Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

A friend and I randomly picked this pizza place, and I've been back two days in a row. I was really surprised by how much I loved my custom-built pizza and the sheer speed that it was cooked and set in front of us. The pizzas are really inexpensive at about $8 and enough for two people, if you get a decent amount of toppings. Also, the place was not crowded, and it was easy to talk. I don't know why so many people are critical of this place, but I'm giving you my opinion here. Perhaps the reviewers don't know how to select a good combination of toppings themselves or just don't like the "subway-like" experience. It is certainly not a fancy restaurant in atmosphere, and that's fine. It is what it is! When I entered, the staff greeted me and immediately took my order. They have a positive attitude and gave me good suggestions, when I asked. There are a ton of fresh toppings, from the normal things you expect like red sauce, pepperoni, and cheese to fresh mozzerella, pesto, veggie cheese, fresh spinach leaves, roasted red peppers, tofu, etc. I don't know how they can afford to give us all those wonderful ingredients all for the same price, but I'm happy! The first time, our pizza was ready in less than two minutes. It was warm and filling. We could barely finish it. We chose a pesto base with tofu, sundried tomatoes, black olives, fresh mozzerella, etc. Excellent! We were so impressed. The next time, I had the guy put a red sauce for 1/2 and pesto for the other half. I had different selections of toppings on each side, including roasted garlic. So, it was like having two different pizzas. The toppings were probably over an inch thick, and there was no way we could finish eating it, despite having two people. So much food. It did take more than 120 seconds for this mass of food to cook, but I'm still happy with 3-5 minutes wait! I have a new favorite place, along with Nikki's West. I'm embarrassed, in a way, that it's a pizza place. I never really thought of pizza much before this.

Awesome pizza. Thin crust, anything you want on it and in only 2 minutes!! Check this place out. Awesome!!!

I tried this for the first time yesterday. As others have noted, for $7.99 you build your own "personal" 9 inch pizza which was too much for me at lunch yesterday. I asked them to make one with small amounts of bagged mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives and fresh spinach leaves and it came out ... fine. The first two slices I enjoyed the char and the chewiness of the dough, but by the 3rd slice the pizza was coldish and the flavors tasted all muddled. I would return to just try the cheese and share it with a friend. I did like that it was cooked in 120 seconds as I was in a relative hurry but opted to eat in so it did not get soggy(er) during transit.

Very good pizza... But 120 isn't long enough to cook the pizzas for most tastes... Very doughy in the middle. They only offer spinach in the salads... No lettuces available. The service is nice, but very unorganized and unenergetic. This place could be good with better management and training. Otherwise I'm afraid it may not make it... The pizzas may cook for 120 seconds, but to stand in line for long it is not worth the trouble..in my humble opinion.

Restauranteur David Kahn has done it again! Found a recipe for success and meeting a niche need in the Birmingham market; quality pizza made to order and cooked quick..120 seconds! Get it? Pizza 120.

  • Preeyam P.

Great pizza! They make the dough right in front of you. They even have this cool machine that flattens it into a crust in just a few seconds. The price for quality of pizza is fantastic. A huge variety of ingredients if you want to make your own pizza. Service is great and quick. I would go back in a heartbeat! I recommend the roasted garlic on any and all pizzas.

Food was pretty good. Needed more pizza sauce but otherwise it was good.

Two stars is being generous here, and it's only because the service was really good. The pizza was not impressive. The setup is simple: Think Moe's, but instead of building a burrito, you're making your own pizza. You can take the guesswork out of it and order one of their signature combinations. Odd stuff here, like the cheeseburger pizza with mayo and ketchup, meat and cheese on it. (I'd rather just have a cheeseburger.) The pizza itself leaves much to be desired. We tried a veggie, a meat and cheese, and another custom-ordered pizza. With more than a few toppings, the crust got soggy quickly. Our pizzas arrived at our table crisp, but not piping hot. Nice thin crust, but save yourself the trouble and heat up a Kashi frozen pizza instead.

  • Michael N.

Very much enjoyed this new addition to the Hwy 280 area. It's really a perfect concept for getting artisan pizza without having to wait 30 minutes for it to cook. You get one size that being the personal pizza size and can pick any toppings you want from the standard pepperoni to the artisan like artichoke hearts. The great thing is that no matter what type of topping you get the price remains the same. Definitly go try this place. It won't let you down.

Great, friendly staff but totally uninspired pizza. We had a pizza margarita and second pie with italian sausage, mushrooms, roasted garlic and onion. The red sauce is very bland and watery. Both of our pizzas were undercooked and rather floppy. I prefer a nice crispy crust and this was more like what you get with a frozen pizza. The guy making our pizzas actually apologized for the pizza as he was making it. He kept saying something like "it will look better when it's cooked". It was odd small talk to say the least. I can't stress just how bland the pizza was. Think food for little kids and nursing homes. Kids will love the ability to watch their pizzas being made, mom and dad will love the cheap prices and the lunch crowd will love the speed but Pizza 120 looses it for me on taste and overall quality. I'd rather pay more, wait longer and have a better quality pizza with a richer, more mature taste.

Excellent concept. Easy, inexpensive and they have a permit that allows grab and go beer sale.

Good fast casual concept execution. Enjoyable custom pizza without a long wait. Look forward to coming back.

The culinary equivalent of Subway for pizza, but without the inspiration, quality or authenticity of the pizza sub. The pizza was undercooked, the sauce was watery and flavorless, the lights were so bright I thought I was eating on the sun, and the only thing I could hear was the dozen or so kids running around and screaming at the top of their lungs. It's like getting a lunchables pizza from a restaurant. You could get a better pie and dining experience at literally any pizza place in Birmingham. Don't waste your time.

This was not good in my option , service was bad and cood was just average !! I will not waste my money here again

  • Kelly P.

Think subway, but instead of unlimited toppings on your sandwich it's on your 9 inch pizza. It's priced great at $5.99 for cheese and $7.99 for unlimited toppings. For those with dietary restrictions, the crust is vegan and there is vegan cheese available. And the 120 second oven is just super cool. My only complaint is that the crust does get soggy pretty quickly. Other than that would recommend to anyone.

  • Evan W.

Everything about this place is great! I'm visiting from Boston and I wish we had one closer. Super friendly staff, great service, great food, GREAT price, and super fast!! It is newer but it will be booming soon! If in the area you have to try it out!

  • Smapdi B.

Utterly uninspired! It's like an oppressed Eastern Bloc state's version of a pizzeria. Cold, austere decor without one ounce of comfort or humanity. Robotic employees. Sub-zero air conditioning. Cheap, uncomfortable chairs. Food that is devoid of gustatory pleasure and can only be described as 'sustenance.' There were about ten other people eating there when I came in, and they all looked morose as hell. As if the specter of Stalin himself had appeared in their pepperoni and threatened to murder their loved ones. Seemed a bit too expensive as well, but that's the least of my complaints. Pizza is supposed to be fun and delicious! Pizza 120 is not fun or delicious. Pizza 120 hates fun and deliciousness. That food was 100% forgettable. Please don't punish yourself by eating here. You don't deserve it.

  • Ed M.

Great pizza concept and while these are not Slice pizzas they are nowhere near the cost either. Additionally, being gluten free as well, Pizza 120 has one of the best (and definitely the fastest) gluten free pizzas around. The was also very respectful of being gluten free and changed gloves and they double pan the pizza on the line. All in all a great experience.

Ingredients were fresh. Fast pizza. Fresh mozzarella was a nice touch. It's good if you're wanting something fast with good taste. Wasn't my favorite pizza but overall I was happy with my lunch.

Pizza was great! Staff was wonderfully helpful. Good deal for the money and the place was clean. I'll be going back.

Ate lunch there today on their first day open in Mountain Brook! I picked my dough, sauce and toppings and loved every bite! Go try it!

  • Dustin G.

Wasn't too impressed...staff was friendly...but food was mediocre at best...uninspiring toppings...not enough sauce....pizza wasn't really cooked that well either...had higher expectation for this place...you can get a similar pizza at subway...
